Join our : 30-Day Boost your wellbeing & immunity challenge

Hello :)

I'm Emma, the anxiety wellbeing coach.

Today in the year 2020, I think it’s fair to say that we have all felt afraid and anxious from all the uncertainty, fearful news and alarming changes to our lives.

In times of uncertainty with added fear and stripped of our usual coping mechanisms like getting outside and seeing our friends and family, we then do our very best with the knowledge that we currently have to try to find other ways to cope. Which is made harder to do when we feel afraid, as our stress response then wants us to survive and focus on the problems. Many people have found this year to be a shock and have coped in the best way that they can, considering trying to survive through lockdowns, worst-case scenario news reports and anxiety. So it’s no wonder that many of us have coped with food, alcohol, watching tv, scrolling the net, etc.

Although we needed to quickly find other ways to cope and to survive the mental shock and trauma of all that was unfolding, many of us have found ourselves feeling very anxious and with fear, that they think they can’t seem to shake. Plus picked up negative behaviours and thinking habits that are causing them more anxiety, we are in need of knowing what to do because,

  • Fear causes anxiety

  • Fear lowers immunity

  • Maladaptive coping mechanisms can have you stuck in a negative - thoughts - feelings - behaviour cycles.

  • Thinking and feeling afraid and choosing ways to cope that without realising it, lower the immune system instead of supporting it.

Example

THOUGHT - The things that I am hearing are uncertain and scary, I don’t know if they are true but I believe it could happen

FEELING - I feel afraid and anxious

BEHAVIOUR - To cope with this huge feeling, I want it to go, I feel I want to eat something sugary or drink something to help me feel better

  • Then the things you choose to consume can cause you to not be getting what the body and mind needs to support this stressful time.

  • The body and mind starts to feel the added stress from not getting what it needs

  • This is also a cause for anxiety in the body

  • Also, a symptom of anxiety is a fearful focus

  • You are then focused on fearful thoughts, you feel afraid and……………….. It’s now a negative circle.

So what do you need?

Do you need to tell yourself off for the way you coped in a crisis? No! You did your very best in a crisis!

What you need is an exit.

Using the only thing that we have conscious control over, our actions!

How?

By slowly bringing activities into our lives that promote immunity, that support the mind, body and soul, and help you to manage your thoughts and fears. Small conscious adaptive mechanisms that change and influence your thoughts and feelings in a helpful way.

Because what we all need now is less fear, and therefore less anxiety and to naturally build our immunity’s back up. So!

Alma Formula and I,

have collaborated to bring you a practical 30-day boost your wellbeing and immunity challenge, that we will be doing ourselves 'live' with you, on our Instagram pages for the whole 30 days. We are aware that our daily learnt habits have become a cause for feeling unable to manage, no longer thriving, only surviving. Everyone is faced with so many distractions, worrisome news, day-to-day stress, to-do lists etc. All this, unmanaged, can leave us experiencing anxiety, focused on everything that is seemingly bad in the world, worried about our mental health, and feeling unable to cope. We want you to know the problem is not you, it is normal that we feel this way with these learnt daily habits and the way in which we live our lives today. We need a change so that our wellbeing is rebalanced for our physical and mental health needs.

We'd love you to join in the challenge with us, we will bring you some small ways to make a big change in your wellbeing. :) It takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle. You won't know unless you try.

You will find on each page week a list of what to expect and things you may need to get prepared for the challenge

Resources

As part of the challenge I have created a downloadable book with an introduction, 4 thought management exercises ready for day 1, 8, 16, 17, 25 and 30. To help guide through the 30 days. That will help give you a way to reconnect you to thoughts that feel good, to know what to do with overwhelming thoughts, and how to manage them. Helping to reduce fear, stress and overwhelm, and in turn, increases your immunity and wellbeing. We need it.
